What is Strategic Planning?
Strategic planning is a process of 1) identifying the proper function of a Christian congregation, 2) identifying strategies that help fulfill those functions, 3) prioritizing which functions are more important and then 4) setting a plan to work the strategies.
There are two seri0us shortcomings in how congregations address strategic prioritizing.
1.) Confessional congregations wrongly think strategic prioritizing is a hindrance to the Gospel.
2.) Church Growth congregations pick the wrong mission and vision for the church which gives rise to
priorities that do not support the Gospel.
