A Scene from Hope's Campaign Video
DeWitt, Michigan
Hope Lutheran Church
$230,000
Hope Lutheran is a great story of a godly vision combined with the expertise of Wittenberg adding up to a capital campaign that is furthering the kingdom of God.
For years the members of Hope had wanted to build a new fellowship/education wing and redo the music area of their sanctuary. Because past architectural plans suggested that the project needed to be done all at once, it seemed to be too big for their parish to afford, even with a capital campaign. Wittenberg was invited to do a campaign feasibiity study. The results showed that it would take a few consecutive campaigns but that it could be done. Wittenberg also suggested that the project be re-oriented so that it could be phased. In the end congregation got some new plans drawn up and what seemed like a 7 year pathway to ground-breaking turned into a mere two years. The project is well on its way!

Large, Multi-staff, Suburban Parish
Naperville, Illinois
Bethany Lutheran Church and School
$1,130,000
Bethany is the home church of Wittenberg's partners, Donna Linnemeyer and Pastor Rossow. Through a strategic planning process (directed by Pastor Rossow) the congregation decided to build a new youth and music rehearsal room and fund a third pastor. Wittenberg offered to donate its services and the congregation accepted. The resulting pledge drive was the largest of the four recent campaigns the congregation has done in the last fifteen years.
The Spiritual Phase of the campaign was also effective. It resulted in hundreds of pledges of increased church attendance, reading of the Book of Concord, and many others. Shortly after the completion of the campaign the parish saw a 25% increase in Bible class attnedance.

Mid-Sized, Small City Church

Peace Lutheran Church
Hastings, Nebraska
It was a cold winter weekend on the plains of Nebraska when Wittenberg first visited Pastor McKay and Peace Lutheran Church. Peace is a very solid church. After faithfully preaching the Word for a few years, Pastor McKay figured it was time to set some goals and priorities.
One of the goals that came out of the planning weekend was the big, hairy, audacious goal (affectionately referred to by Wittenberg Church Consultants as a BHAG*) of adding on a new fellowship hall and covered drop-off area with a brand new narthex that would be more welcoming.
Wittenberg was then contracted to lead the parish through a Building Feasibility study that will lead to a capital campaign to raise the funds for the new additions.
*This phrase was coined by secular business consultant James Collins.
